Introduction: What Are We Treating?
As we age, our upper faces develop deep lines from the contraction of muscles in our foreheads, frown line areas, nasal areas and crow’s feet areas. Sometimes the skin on the chin develops an orange peel texture.
In our lower face, folds deepen and lips become flatter and thinner with poor definition and “smoker’s lines” develop.
Fortunately, treatment is available for these changes. In just one day, this course will teach you to dramatically improve the cosmetic appearance of your patients’ faces.
Botulinum Toxin:
Botulinum Toxin is used medically to relax the muscles of the upper face to reduce the appearance of frown lines, crow’s feet lines and forehead lines. Botulinum Toxin lasts about about ten to twelve weeks and is priced as low as $11/unit. Treatment of frown lines starts at about $275. Treatment of the full upper face starts at around $600.
Dermal Fillers:
Dermal Fillers are a tissue-like gel used in the lower face to reverse the signs of aging, improve lip fullness, smooth lines from the nose to lips (nasolabial folds) and soften lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin (marionette lines). They last ten to twelve months (24 weeks for cheek augmentation) and prices start at $700.
