Neurotoxins and Dermal Fillers"

Choosing the Ideal Volunteer Patient:

Please bring one to three volunteer patients. Patients should be available from 11 am untill 5 pm, desire and consent to treatment with Botulinum Toxin and/or Dermal Fillers, and not have open lesions or skin infections at the proposed treatment site(s).

Patients should be between 20 and 60 years old, have reasonable expectations, should not be needle phobic, should not be pregnant or nursing, and should not be allergic to OnaBotulinumToxinA (Botox), Nasha 24 Gel (Juvederm), Lidocaine, Prilocaine or Bupivacaine. (We do not inject local anesthetics containing Epinephrine at the training course.)

Please do not choose patients with medical or dental anxiety, social anxiety, claustrophobia, or with a history of difficulty becoming or staying numb at the dentist. Please choose patients with proof of vacination for Covid-19 or who are willing to wear a mask and not be treated with filler in the lips.

Volunteers must be sober and willing to consent to treatment, including possible infraorbital and mental nerve blocks. They should be available and willing to follow-up in your office two weeks after treatment so that you can evaluate their results and "fine-tune" their treatment.

Patients who have an important event (wedding, graduation, office party) scheduled within four weeks are not ideal candidates because time must be allowed for follow-up and for possible bruising to resolve.

Patients with a history of neurologic diseases, history of anaphylaxis to any drug, psychiatric disease, autoimmune disorders, immune deficiency, HIV, hepatitis, severe allergies, bleeding problems, anticoagulant therapy, previous problems with Botulinum Toxin or Dermal Fillers, or serious illnesses are not candidates for treatment.

We strongly encourage you to bring your own patients or staff with whom you are familiar and have established rapport. Your office staff are the ideal candidates from a marketing standpoint, provided they could benefit from Botulinum Toxin or Dermal Fillers.

Please let us know if you have any concerns about finding or choosing a volunteer patient.

Patients should not have any of the contraindications listed on the Complete Prescribing Information found on the manufacturer's website which can be downloaded here:

Botulinum Toxin Prescribing Information

Dermal Filler Prescribing Information

Again, please familiarize yourself with these documents. They will be the cornerstone of the didactic material. (You may claim continuing education credit for all time spent on pre-course study in addition to the course participation up to a maximum of eight hours.)

As always, you may call Gretchen if you have any questions: 901-432-0173 or click HERE. (contactus@922aesthetics.com)
